THE YOGA LAB
Slow it down. Break it down. Explore your practice.
In a regular yoga class, we move through dozens of poses—sometimes without having the time to stop and really understand what we’re doing.
The Yoga Lab is where we get curious.
This monthly 90-minute workshop series gives us the opportunity to slow things down and take a deeper look at different parts of the yoga practice.
Each month we'll explore a different theme—from foundational poses and transitions to arm balances, inversions, mobility, and some of the stories and philosophy woven into the yoga tradition.
We'll break poses down step-by-step, explore how they work in the body, practice different preparations and modifications, and give you time to ask questions, experiment, and discover what works for your body.
You don't need to be able to “do” the featured pose to come to the Lab.
In fact, that's the point. Come to learn. Come to explore. Come to play.
All levels are welcome, with modifications, props, preparatory poses, and different options offered throughout.

November
THE YOGA LAB: Rethinking Your Vinyasa
Downward Dog + Chaturanga + Upward Dog
Saturday, November 21, 2026: 2:00pm-3:30pm
If you practice vinyasa yoga, you've probably moved through these poses hundreds—maybe thousands—of times.
But how often have you had the opportunity to really slow them down?
In this Lab, we'll take apart one of the most common sequences in modern yoga: Downward-Facing Dog, Chaturanga, and Upward-Facing Dog.
We'll explore alignment, shoulder and core engagement, how to transition between poses, and some of the common habits we can fall into when moving quickly through a flow.
We'll also look at different ways to modify your vinyasa—including knees-down variations, Cobra instead of Upward Dog, and when skipping Chaturanga altogether might be the better choice.
Poses may include:
Downward-Facing Dog • Plank • Chaturanga • Cobra • Upward-Facing Dog • transitions between each pose • modifications and strength-building exercises
We'll finish by putting everything together in a short flow so you can experience your vinyasa with a whole new level of awareness.
December
THE YOGA LAB: Arm Balances
Strength, Technique + A Little Courage
Saturday, December 12th, 2026: 2:00pm-3:30pm
Arm balances can look intimidating—but they're also an incredible place to learn about balance, leverage, strength, focus, and trust. And they're a lot of fun to play with.
Rather than simply attempting the final pose over and over, we'll break arm balances into their individual pieces and explore what actually helps us get off the ground.
We'll work with hand placement, weight shifting, core engagement, gaze, balance, and the relationship between strength and technique.
Poses may include:
Crow • Side Crow • Flying Pigeon • Eight-Angle Pose and other arm-balance variations
We'll explore preparatory exercises and modifications for each pose, with plenty of options whether your feet stay firmly on the ground or you're ready to fly.
The goal isn't to “nail” every pose.
It's to get curious, try something new, and have some fun discovering what's possible.

THE YOGA LAB: Hanuman + The Splits
The Pose, The Practice + The Great Leap
Saturday, January 9th, 2026: 2:00pm-3:30pm
Hanumanasana—the yoga splits—is named after Hanuman and his legendary leap across the ocean in the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana.
In this Lab, we'll explore both the story behind the pose and the physical practice of moving toward it.
We'll work progressively with the hamstrings, hip flexors, hips, and surrounding muscles while exploring the balance between mobility, strength, and patience.
Poses and practices may include:
Low Lunge • Half Splits • Pyramid • Standing Splits • supported Hanumanasana • full Hanumanasana • mobility and strengthening exercises
Props and modifications will be used throughout, and doing a full split is absolutely not a prerequisite.
Along the way, we'll explore the story of Hanuman and themes of courage, devotion, possibility, and the great leap.
Because sometimes the most interesting part of a pose isn't whether we eventually arrive there.
It's what we discover about ourselves along the way.
February
THE YOGA LAB: The Warriors
Warrior I. Warrior II. Warrior III.: The Story Behind the Poses
Saturday, February 12th, 2026: 2:00pm-3:30pm
They're some of the most recognizable poses in modern yoga—but have you ever wondered why they're called Warriors?
In this Lab, we'll explore the story of Virabhadra that inspired the warrior poses while taking a closer look at the physical practice of each posture.
We'll slow down enough to explore foot and hip placement, balance, strength, stability, transitions, and the different ways these familiar poses can be adapted for different bodies.
Poses may include:
Warrior I • Warrior II • Warrior III • Humble Warrior • Reverse Warrior • related transitions and variations
We'll explore modifications and use props where helpful before bringing the poses together in a short warrior-inspired flow.
Part physical practice, part storytelling, this Lab is an opportunity to experience familiar poses with new understanding—and perhaps discover something you never knew about the practice you've been doing all along.
